From the
Louisville Courier-Journal:
"Fifth Third Bank is among financial institutions across the U.S issuing new credit cards and debit cards following the theft of transaction data earlier this year from payment processor Heartland Payment Systems.
“We have been dealing with this for some time,” Fifth Third Bank spokeswoman Deborah Decorcy said of notices sent to customers recently that a new card would be issued.
The company couldn't immediately provide how many customers were affected at Fifth Third.
Heartland, of Princeton, N.J., processes up to 100 million transactions monthly for financial institutions."
