Kentucky U.S. 60 in Crittenden County Closed After Accident
According to the Kentucky Department of Highways, a part of Kentucky's highway U.S. 60 in Crittenden County will be closed for several hours today as a result of a truck wreck that involved spilling chemicals known as anhydrous ammonia, which occurred when the truck overturned.
The truck related accident took place on Kentucky roadway east of Marion and close to the Amish community. The truck will have to be off-loaded, which requires U.S. 60 road to be closed at the site for hours - likely, more than four hours. Kentucky highway crews in Crittenden County and Union County are working with the police in order to establish and maintain necessary road blocks and detour(s).
Officials report that the detour will be lengthy and caution motorists to avoid the area.Thus far, injuries have not been reported.
