A: Athetoid dyskinetic cerebral palsy is the second most common type of cerebral palsy. A baby's intelligence will normally be unaffected but the whole body will be affected by muscle problems. An infant's muscle tone will be weak or tight causing random spastic uncontrolled movements. The infant child will have problems walking, sitting, maintaining posture, and speaking clearly (often the tongue and vocal cords will be hard to control and require speech therapy).
