
November 7, 2011 - Jeffersonville, Ky. - During the evening of Saturday, November 5, 5 people were injured when they were involved in a 5-vehicle car accident.
According to a news report on WHAS11, the accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. at Hamburg Pike and Charleston/Jeffersonville Pike. Reports indicate that 5 vehicles collided into each other on the road. Further details of how the incident happened are not yet available.
Reports concluded that 5 people sustained injuries in the accident. All 5 people had to be transported to local hospitals for medical attention. The medical conditions of the victims are not known at this time; however, dispatchers said that none of the injuries appeared to be serious.
The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released. The reason behind the accident remains to be determined as it is under the stages of investigation by authorities.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Kentucky Crash Statistics, there were 791 fatalities as a result of traffic accidents in Kentucky.
