January 3, 2012 – In a report from the kypost, a state citation has been issued against a Kentucky nursing home for mistreatment.
The Kentucky Attorney General’s Office is reviewing a citation against the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville, after allegations were made that one of their male caregivers was mistreating patients.
The citation against the facility stems from administrative staff not being informed of the allegations and the failure for a thorough investigation to be completed. Additionally, the facility didn’t report the allegations to the appropriate state agencies.
This citation is being appealed by the nursing home, indicating there are no grounds for it. They report that the allegations of abuse were not substantiated.
When your loved one has been the victim of any type of abuse in a nursing home and it leads to serious injuries, emotionally or physically, the facility may be held liable. To learn if you have a legitimate case worth pursuing, you should speak with a Kentucky nursing home abuse attorney as soon as possible.
An attorney will evaluate the details of your case to determine if legal action is warranted. They can also provide information on the types of compensation that could be recoverable.
