What causes traumatic brain injury (“TBI”)?

The reportedly leading causes of traumatic brain injury are, as follows:

a. Falls (28%); 

b. Motor vehicle accidents or traffic-related crashes (20%);
c. Person struck by/against (19%); and 

d. Assaults (11%).

Blasts are a leading cause of traumatic brain injuries for active duty military personnel in war zones.
