Kentucky continues to have rising statistics on prescription errors as more and more small mom and pop pharmacies are being run out of town by the major pharmacy chains. The statistics for 2010 show a sharp increase of medication errors, mostly at the major pharmacy chains such as Walgreens and Kroger. As we keep reporting, many of these prescription mistakes are being committed by pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy chains such as Walgreens like to hire techs instead of pharmacists because they don't have to pay them as much money. The problem is, they have far less training than a pharmacist.
