Walgreen's pharmacy has been sued several times in the last decade over medication errors. The company has often fought to keep these lawsuits secrete by asking judges to issue gag orders in prescription error lawsuits. Such gag orders are a danger to the public and do not promote safety. Pharmacy errors are becoming more common and the need to prevent medication errors is on the rise. Allowing the public to know the facts of a lawsuit helps expose negligent conduct and promote safety. Thankfully, most Kentucky courts do not allow companies to impose gag orders on their lawsuits.
