The "Transformers 3" blockbuster movie sequel movie makers were sued by Gabriela Cedillo, a stunt woman extra, who was severely injured during the summer filming of a stunt while on set in Hammond, Indiana, that resulted in her suffering permanent brain damage injuries. The lawsuit includes allegations relating to claims of negligence by the movie makers because her accident occurred when a cable attached to the bottom of a stunt car closest to Cedillo suddenly snapped and the vehicle became unexpectedly airborne, then crashed into the Cedillo's car hood, windshield and head.
The family of Cedillo, 24-year old of Chicago, Illinois, is deeply concerned as Gabriela has suffered severe head trauma and is permanently brain-damaged as a result of her accident on set in September 1, 2010 and, since that date, has remained at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood for continued medical treatment and observation.
The Cedillo lawsuit was filed in Cook County on October 5, 2010, and includes allegations that movie officials were negligent through faulty welding, the bracket design, and permitting extras to be too close to the stunt.
An accident can take the form of a car crash, a house fire, or even an amusement park catastrophe, all of which can cause emotional trauma and physical damage. Most people associate accidents with broken bones and shaken nerves, but a traumatic and unexpected catastrophic accident can cause far more severe personal injury, such as brain damage or paralysis.
