Firefighter Injured in Kentucky Truck Accident

Posted on Jul 24, 2009

A volunteer firefighter was injured when the fire truck rolled over on Boyce-Fairview Road in Bowling Green.

William Tabor, a 26-year-old man, was responding to a report of a fire at 1166 Greenbrier Road when he tried to avoid a collision with a white Impala that was driving on the wrong side of the road.  The truck accident occurred at approximately 3:00 PM.

According to reports, the truck rolled over and came to a stop on its wheels.  The fire truck was destroyed in the accident.  Tabor sustained a fractured eye socket and jaw bone, but was released from the Medical Center.

It was also reported that the driver of the white Impala did not stop.

One of the other fire engines detoured to the scene of the crash, as well as members of the Gott Volunteer Fire Department, according to a news release by the Alvaton Fire Department.
