A toddler died on the morning of September 7, 2009 from the injuries he sustained after being hit by a car. The Louisville car accident took place on Sunday on Rangeland Road.
Louisville Metro Police are not releasing the name of the 2-year-old boy, who was hit while trying to cross the street. According to a police spokesman, he was taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital following the evening accident. Police said that the young boy had just gotten off a TARC bus, when he ran into traffic.
The fatal Louisville accident is still being investigated and no charges have been filed at this point in time.
The driver of the car who hit the boy called 911, but left the accident scene before police got there. Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said that the driver called police again later, but it is unclear how far the driver was from the accident scene.
