
August 12, 2011 - Louisville, Ky. - Two people had to be sent to the hospital Thursday, August 11, following a roll-over car accident in Louisville.
According to a news story on WHAS11, the accident occurred during Thursday afternoon where Bardstown Road and Cedar Look Road meet. A vehicle was driving on the road, when its driver evidently lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. Exactly how the accident occurred is unclear at this time.
Reports have indicated that 2 people were injured in the crash. Both were trapped in the vehicle immediately following the accident but were released by emergency response crews.
The 2 victims were transported to a nearby hospital. The severity of their injuries is currently unknown. The identities of the victims involved in the accident have not been reported.
Only a single vehicle was involved in the accident. No further injuries have been reported in relation to this accident. Investigations into the accident are continuing.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Kentucky Crash Statistics, there were 791 fatalities as a result of traffic accidents in Kentucky.
