January 7, 2011, Louisville, KY - A 2-vehicle accident that occurred on Dixie Highway's 8000 block left one man dead on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 28, Courier-Journal.com has reported.
According to the article, the driver of a Ford Fusion-who was traveling north on Dixie Highway-apparently lost control of the car. The white Ford swerved over into the south lanes of the highway and collided with a red pickup that had just exited from a parking lot.
Louisville Metro Police officers were dispatched after receiving a report of an injury at approximately 10:55 a.m., said police spokesman Dwight Mitchell.
The pickup truck driver was killed and the victim's passenger was transported to University Hospital, Mitchell said. The passenger's injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
The driver of the Ford and a passenger were also transported to University Hospital. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening either, Mitchell said.
The names of those involved in the accident were not disclosed to the public.Police traffic investigators were going over the evidence from the collision to determine why the Ford's driver lost control of the car. Intoxication screenings were pending, and so far, no charges had been filed.
