July 15, 2010 - Nicholasville, KY - Officer Gil Rendon was on bike patrol with his partner late Thursday evening when he was clipped by a turning truck.
The officers were on patrol near Rebel Road and Garden Park Drive around 10PM when Officer Rendon was struck by a truck making a turn at the intersection. He suffered cuts and bruises, lost a tooth, and suffered back and neck pain according to paramedics.
Officer Rendon was transported to UK Hospital where his injuries were listed as moderate and not life-threatening. The driver of the truck stopped immediately to offer aid and has not been cited for any wrong doing, although the truck accident is still under investigation.
