A Louisville accident involving a single car leaves at least one person with injuries. The incident took place at approximately 10:00 PM on Thursday evening, December 10, 2009 on Louisville Road near Louisville Landing.
Blount County Sheriff’s deputies and local firefighters responded to the accident that involved a single car on Thursday evening. Officials reported that Rural/Metro ambulance had to use special equipment to extract at least one person from the vehicle involved in the wreck. The unidentified victim was transported to a nearby hospital and was treated for injuries sustained in the accident. The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.
It is believed that there may have been at least one other injury. There were no other details made available.
Local commuters were inconvenienced for at least one hour while police redirected traffic back down Louisville Road to allow crews to clear the one-vehicle wreck.
The Louisville accident is still under investigation by local authorities. Though, the cause of the accident is unknown, reports indicate that there was black ice in the area, which may have been a contributing factor in the accident.
