July 28, 2011 – Elizabethtown, Ky. – According to a news story on WHAS11, a fatal car accident on I-65, near Elizabethtown, killed a toddler and injured 2 adults.

A black SUV was traveling south on Interstate 65, Friday, July 22, at about 5:30 p.m. when it crashed near the Glendale exit, around mile marker 86. The driver lost control of the vehicle as it veered toward the median. When the driver overcorrected, the vehicle flipped over several times through the median until it landed on the other side of the highway, in the northbound lanes.

This major accident left a 2-year-old child fatally injured when she was ejected from the car due to the fact she was not properly secured in a child seat. The toddler was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and another passenger in the car were flown to University Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Police believe the driver was intoxicated while driving and charges may be filed.
