December 15, 2011 – Bullitt County, Ky. – A fatal crash left a woman dead on Friday, December 9, according to Bullitt County Sheriffs deputies.

WDRB 41 News
reports that Amelia Smith, 60, of Bardstown was the victim of the deadly accident which occurred on KY-245 near the Jim Beam Distillery. The incident closed the road until crews were able to clear the wreckage.

The Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which took place around noon that day. Deputies say Smith died at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries. No details have been released regarding the cause of the accident or if there were any others involved.

Fault for crashes on remote roads can be difficult to prove, especially if there are no witnesses to give details of the accident. In cases such as these, a
Kentucky accident attorney can often provide methods of evidence gathering that you may not have access to. Accident reconstruction specialists can help piece together the details of an accident when no one else can, and an experienced attorney may be able to bring this sort of help to your case.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Kentucky Crash Statistics, there were 791 fatalities as a result of
traffic accidents in Kentucky.
