Fatal Motorcycle Accident with Tractor-Trailer

March 15, 2012 –Louisville,Ky.– New details have been released, as well as the identity of the motorcyclist killed in a fatal accident on Tuesday, March 6.

WLKY Louisville has reported new information on a story covered last week on a motorcyclist involved in a fatal accident with a tractor-trailer and a passenger truck on I-65.

The victim, James Savage, 53, was confirmed dead on the scene from blunt force trauma and multiple injuries. Investigators have reviewed the accident site, located nearGrade Laneand the I-65 exit ramp, and now believe that Savage’s bike was pinned against the tractor-trailer by the passenger truck.

As the passenger truck moved into the path of Savage’s motorcycle he became stuck between the truck and the tractor-trailer before being thrown from his bike. Police are still trying to determine if he was hit by any other vehicles.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2009 Kentucky Crash Statistics, there were 791 fatalities as a result of traffic accidents in Kentucky.
