Multiple Injuries Kill Woman in Louisville Motorcycle Crash

According to reports of a crash, a car and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Bluegrass Avenue and Taylor Boulevard. This fatal accident occurred on Tuesday June 18, 2013, around 10:00 p.m.

Witnesses to the accident report that a truck was in a left turn lane on Bluegrass Avenue and made a left turn onto Taylor Boulevard. A white Pontiac was reportedly behind the truck in the left turn lane and attempted to make the left turn on to Taylor Boulevard after the truck. However, before the turn was safely executed, the Pontiac reportedly collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The driver of the Harley Davidson was not immediately identified to the media following the crash. He was reported to be in the hospital with head injuries. He was listed in serious condition after the accident. The passenger on the Harley Davidson has been identified as 48-year-old Stacey R. Allen. Ms. Allen reportedly died from multiple injuries following this Louisville motorcycle crash. Neither the motorcycle driver nor Ms. Allen were believed to be wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

The Louisville Metro Police report that the accident investigation was ongoing in the days following the motorcycle wreck. In a preliminary statement to the media, a spokesperson for the Louisville Metro Police reported that speed was not thought to be a factor, but that the Department was investigating the possible use of alcohol by the motorcycle driver.
