Two People Dead after Calloway County, Kentucky Accident

Ali Adams, 22, was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber northbound on US-641 shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013. Perry Adams, 61, was a passenger in her car. At the same time, 59-year-old Melanie Stockham was driving a 1999 GMC pickup truck southbound on US-641.

According to the preliminary investigation of the Kentucky State Police, Ms. Adams reportedly hydroplaned, crossed into the southbound lane, and collided head-on with Ms. Stockham’s vehicle. The accident allegedly occurred around 8:50 a.m., about one mile south of Murray, Kentucky.

Ms. Stockham, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was allegedly pronounced dead by the Calloway County coroner at the scene of the accident. Ali Adams and Perry Adams were both taken to Murray Colloway County Hospital for treatment of their accident injuries. Perry Adams died from his injuries while at the hospital. Ali Adams was taken to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville for treatment of her injuries.

The investigation of this fatal Kentucky accident is ongoing. The Kentucky State Patrol is reportedly assisting in the reconstruction of this crash.

This was the second of two fatal accidents in Calloway County, Kentucky on the morning of May 31, 2013. In the first accident, the driver also allegedly lost control and crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic.
