Young Kentucky Woman Killed in Thanksgiving Weekend Car Crash

A recent car accident took the life of a young Kentucky woman at the end of the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend this year. Police report that 32-year-old Rebecca Guy was in an accident on Sunday, November 25, 2012 and that she died from her accident injuries on Monday, November 26, 2012.

The accident reportedly occurred during the late afternoon hours in Garrard County, Kentucky. Ms. Guy was driving on KY 152 when another car turned on to KY 152 from US 27. When the other car turned on to KY 152, Ms. Guy’s car hit the other car and spun around. According to reports of the accident, Ms. Guy’s car overturned multiple times and she was ejected from her vehicle during the course of the crash.

The other driver’s identity and whether that driver and/or any passengers were injured has not yet been reported.

Ms. Guy was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. She had emergency surgery and was placed in the intensive care unit following surgery. However, doctors reported that her medical condition continued to decline, and Rebecca Guy was pronounced dead at 12:27 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012, approximately 7 ½ hours following her Garrard County car accident. The cause of her death has been described by the coroner as multiple blunt force trauma.
