2-Vehicle Car Accident in Louisville Kills 1, Injures 3

October 10, 2011 – Louisville, Ky. – A person was killed and 3 people were injured when 2 vehicles collided on Sunday, October 9.

WHAS11 reports that the accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Breckenridge Lane and Manner Gate. According to police, a Dodge Caravan crashed into a Jeep Cherokee in the intersection. The impact caused the Jeep to overturn, trapping the occupants inside.

The Jeep’s driver, Roger Lowen, 82, was fatally injury in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. His official cause of death has been listed as multiple blunt force injuries.

A female passenger in the Jeep and the 2 occupants of the Dodge were injured in the accident. The woman was transported to U of L Hospital to be treated for unknown injuries. The occupants of the Dodge were transported to Baptist East Hospital. Their injuries are also unknown.

There has been no word on whether or not charges will be filed in connection with this accident.
