A fatal Kentucky accident took the lives of a young couple from Florida and the wife’s parents on December 24, 2012. The crash occurred on U.S. 25E in Knox County. According to reports of the accident, the following people were killed in the crash: Brent Robinson, 30; his wife, Julia Robinson, 29; Julia’s mother, Patricia Caldwell, 58; Julia’s father, Gary Caldwell, 61; and the driver of the other vehicle, 31-year-old David Vanderpool.
Kentucky State Police report that Mr. Vanderpool’s car crossed the median of U.S. 25E and collided head on with the vehicle carrying Mr. & Mrs. Caldwell and Mr. and Mrs. Robinson. The Caldwells had reportedly picked the Robinsons up in Lexington to spend the Christmas holiday together.
The Kentucky State Police were allegedly looking for Mr. Vanderpool’s 2004 Ford Taurus when they learned of the serious crash. They were looking for the car because they had allegedly been notified that the driver may have been intoxicated. Police report that they believe alcohol to have been a factor in this fatal crash and that they believe Mr. Vanderpool was traveling approximately 80-90 miles per hour when he hit the Robinsons and Caldwells head on.
Brent and Julia were married in 2009. He worked in computers and she was an elementary school speech pathologist in Florida. Both Mr. & Mrs. Caldwell worked for public schools here in Kentucky.
Our Kentucky accident lawyers extend their sincere condolences to the friends and family of the Caldwells and the Robinsons following this tragic accident.
